International airline adds new flights to South Africa

Lufthansa is massively expanding its flights from South Africa to Europe for the final months of the year, as South Africa sees larger tourism numbers.

Fastest way to get to Kruger and other safari destinations. If not for that I doubt they would bother. Don't think anyone is staying JHB.

same, we used to be one of few places on Earth where you could fly non stop to every inhabited continent,
now you have to do connections and layovers cause we aligned with all the wrong people in the world.

sad that they adding flights only cause of the mess in the middle east and otherwise the aircraft sit idle not making money,
so why not fly them to the edge of africa, take a few German Tourists to Kruger, relieve them of some euros and fly them home.

My sister was on Lufthansa connecting Frankfurt to Mexico City and back for the opening match. She said the standards had dropped badly since she flew on them a few years ago. Flight attendants kept missing people when handing out meals during service where people had to call them back. And they frequently ran out of meal options and drink options.

Fair enough. I feel sorry for anyone flying to Cape Town via Joburg though, you only make that mistake once. Transferring between the international and domestic terminals at OR Tambo has to be one of the most painful experiences I have ever had at an airport.

I agree their service has got bad, I used to only fly Lufthansa when travelling to Europe for work. Now its one of the last airlines I look at.

KLM is still pretty decent and Schipol runs like well-oiled machine.

I concur, I like KLM and the airport at Amsterdam is great

Only downside with KLM is that the outgoing flight from Amsterdam to Cape Town is a day flight. Understandable though because it means the flight can literally turn around in a few hours and be on its way back to Amsterdam again.
