Cool Ideas Fibre ISP – Feedback Thread 6

Is the Cool Ideas Speedtest.net server offline ? I thought something was wrong with my 5G as the speedtest app chose the Cool Ideas server automatically but says "Please check your connection" changing servers allows for a speedtest
HI there, Nope I was able to do a speed test to the Cool Ideas speed test server a few moments ago, are you able to try again?

@CoolEscalator , could you please escalate this ticket of mine?
I've been paying for 200mbps service for a long time, I checked with LAN cable and it suddenly tops out at ~95mbps. Was always showing 202-204mbps. I suspect my profile was changed instead of someone elses?

Here is the ticket number: #COOL-20260626-2709028

HI there, Thank you for reaching out, unfortunately we can't escalate, as it was logged 12 minutes ago.
However our support team will definitely be in contact as soon as possible, to troubleshoot with you.
But by just looking at the issue description, this is likely just a LAN negotiation issue, which is either :

-The Wrong LAN cable being used
-A poor connection on the WAN--> ONT (make sure the LAN Cable has a good connection, perhaps clean it and make sure its firmly connected on both sides.
-Non-Gigabit router (unlikely if you got 200mbps in the past)
-Or your computer NIC is set to 100 full duplex instead of 1Gbps

If you use your Internet over LAN as well, be sure to do the same with your Computer + LAN port on router
Its more common than you think, has happened to me a few times :)

Yup , I see the issue, something between your Router and Vuma ONT is capping at 100mbps
The Vuma ONT reports 100mbps negotiation instead of 1Gbps on LAN 1
So definitely option 1 or 2 in my previous message.

Code:
LAN-1: 100fdx <--
  B4:XXXX:XXXXX
 LAN-2: Down

Thanks for this!
I'd never thought it could be my trusty CAT6 cable, will investigate what happened here. I can see my ER-X to WAN is reporting 100mbps :unsure:1782487648511.png
