City of Johannesburg removes Netflix billboard over non-compliance

"JPC collect close to R100 million in revenue"

Wow. Because this is so much easier than collecting the billions of outstanding rates, taxes, electricity and water fees.

Or addressing the billions lost by water leaks or electricity theft.

What idiotic journalism headline is this, clearly misleading to promote an agenda, click bait deluxe? This is not Netflixs fault, this sign <--- the actual physical structure was not approved to be in that person's yard, hence why the municipality threw its toys and has demolished it.

The City of Joburg confirmed to MyBroadband that the advertising structure was removed because it was erected without the requisite approval.

It's the usual bash streaming services followed by the daily promote Multichoice article. Just have to look at Broad Media's client list to see where the bias is leaning towards

Retards can't even fix a pothole or a robot but they are quick to complain about a billboard just shows you the mentality (oh sh*t they don't have brains to use) of these clowns.

The whataboutism in this thread is insane.

All that aside, these billboards are like litter.

Wouldn't be surprised if Multichoice "encouraged" this removal, interesting that it's the only one taken down so far of all the illegal billboards mentioned earlier.

Criminal continent 🤷‍♂️

"So far, the campaign to remove illegal billboards in the city has seen the JPC collect close to R100 million in revenue following recent escalations."

And there you have it.

Meanwhile, half the underside of an N1 bridge near me was turned into a black owned makeshift concrete incinerator for plastic, wood etc. disposal. Can't wait for the bridge to collapse so we can all scream about it.

Typical double standards..... They can't even pay eskom, but still throwing the weight around.....

Good on JHB for getting something done. Hopefully we see more of this sort of thing and that city stops collapsing.

So another illegal erection. I suppose they are now just as efficient at fixing potholes and water leaks.

No it's more the fact that there are more pressing issues people have been complaining about, for years in some cases until someone swims in them. I didn't hear anybody complain how a billboard is affecting their daily life. As usual government has its priorities top down. Not that munis shouldn't collect what is due and that this this could make a huge dent in the outstanding electricity bill but it's another case of going after easy targets with likely no improvement elsewhere.

I was wondering about this since these don't appear to be on public land. Technically even your braai oven or carport needs approval but we don't see munis go after those. It's only when money is involved they do something.

So they somehow saw this but ignore all the potholes and non working robots?

 🤡's
