Good news about petrol prices

South African motorists with diesel- and petrol-powered cars are set for some relief at the pumps in July 2026, even after the National Treasury ends its general fuel levy (GFL) cuts.

Daily fuel price data from the Central Energy Fund (CEF) show that fuel recoveries have risen, which will translate into larger fuel price cuts in July.

So let me get this straight, in March and April the prices were way over 90, it's now at 72, which was February pricing, plus in March the dollar was hitting 17+ soooo how is it that in March and April the price was lower, petrol shouldn't be dropping so little, even with the R1.50 being added back, it should be dropping down to R23 again

How in the hell is it only a R3 recovery when at more or less the same price for oil just before the war it was like R7 cheaper.
