Case study in how gamification isn't the solution to everything.

Wonder how much money they're going to burn on this new stupid.

the TV licence scheme has failed. She said this was due to a historic culture of non-payment in South Africa
ah yes the non-paying kulcha! it certainly has nothing to do with the quality of the product ...

free-to-view streaming service, SABC+, to get more people to pay
there's an oxymoron in there ... or rather the place is run by a horde of morons

“People generally don’t believe they should have to pay for services. It’s not unique to the SABC. We see it with electricity, with water, etc. So we need to understand that there is that culture,” Chabeli said."

Your pipple, lady, your pipple...

I suppose good to see them trying new funding ideas, but then why mention licensing at all?? It practically no longer exists, end of.

Go get the money back from Hlaudi first

Three former SABC executives have been ordered to repay more than R11. 5 million that was unlawfully paid to Hlaudi Motsoeneng as so-called “success payments” nearly a decade ago. ⚖️ The ruling is seen as a strong step in holding individuals accountable for misuse of public funds.

Seems they are working on it. It's only been over a decade so far please be patient.

'Historic' now means since 1994, say it like it is, your party promised people FREE EVERYTHING in exchange for votes, now it is time to pay the piper. The other thing is the current 'regime' has tried to tax everything, and people are tired of the nonsense, again time to pay the piper. Let's see what happens come November, hopefully the promises are now seen for what they really are, lies and bovine flora.

The only use I found for SABC+ was finding episodes of Orkney Snork Nie my kids couldn't find.

The culture of non payment is why this country is a failed state and that also includes the pirates. Stop pirating. If you enjoy SABC content then you shall pay for it. If not, then don't watch.

Have they ever played hide and go seek ?

Count to 10, SABC (remember to shout "ready or not, here I come")
