New SABC tactic to get South Africans to pay for TV licences
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) plans to use its free-to-view streaming service, SABC+, to get more people to pay their TV licence fees.
Presenting the broadcaster's third and fourth quarter performance before Parliament on Friday, 26 June 2026, CEO Nomsa Chabeli said the SABC had already launched the pilot project in this regard.
