Ramaphosa appoints disgraced former communications minister to his cabinet

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a late-night Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, appointing Dina Pule to the vacant position of Minister of Social Development.

He also implemented a request from Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Leader Geordin Hill-Lewis to move several DA ministers into different roles — including a demotion for John Steenhuisen.
