Legit rebuilds or BS?

Matt has one of the best channels on Youtube, he's such a fun easy going guy and if you are into diy tinkering and fixing sht then his channel is epic. It’s very interesting how he's broken the paradigm that it’s impossible for normal people to DIY repair the highest end cars, granted he has the budget to splash out on spare parts but the actual work of problem diagnosis and repair is largely the same no matter the budget or vehicle, common sense and hard work will sort out the majority of stuff.

i watch many other youtuber mechanic type channels that work on cars i relate to
i just dont find the supercar stuff interesting
matt must be great to get the views he gets

The interesting thing I find about the super cars is not the cars themselves but being able to look behind the curtain and see that they aren't actually so much different from any other car both in engineering and the parts, also how horribly they rip consumers off. Like the super cars brands owned by VAG, Lamborghini uses many off the shelf VAG parts, Matt often cross references the parts and buys an identical Audi part for 10% of the Lambo part. The Bugattis he's been fixing recently have been a good example of that.

The Bugatti has also been interesting in using some non-VAG parts in random places, like the steering wheel airbag being an Aston Martin one I think it was.

But yeah, a whole heap load of the parts are straight out of the parts bin at the manufacturer and 10x'd in price because it has a different part number prefix or suffix basically.
Has also been somewhat interesting to see the Bugatti owner respond in the way he has on some things.

okay fair i did see a clip long ago where he showed that some part off a lambo was from some other cheap car, might have been VAG and found that very interesting

That the parts are special, etc etc. And yes some are, but much of the electrics, airbags, etc are parts bin items.

And that he needed special tools and skills to split the car.
