Almost time for many of us to decide...

Yeah, decided to keep the annual option. I wouldn't need to order that often to make it worthwhile.

Seems like a no brainer.

Not having the best delivery experience from first order with prime.
But had Prime tv anyway, so the R400/year is a bargain

It's a no from me, fam. I just wasn't that impressed with Prime Video, and even at "only" R400 I can always resubscribe later if I want something specific.

They really missed the opportunity with their very first Prime Day (aka week) in South Africa to create viral excitement like the Black Friday deals from Vodacom. A whole page of impossibly cheap deals with very limited stock, open from midnight ... that's where they should have been, rather than "ok to good discounts".

Got a free year from Vodacom, so yes so far.
I received a WhatsApp from Vodacom today to inform me that I can get Amazon Prime free for a year. The Vodacom subscription kicks in immediately after my free trial ends, which is in about a week.

I am. Just buying some groceries already saved me more money than the sub.
Hell coffee special alone was R70 cheaper than the supermarkets, and it was delivered the next morning.

TBH don't see how they can sustain the current value offering

We buy our dog food now. With the everyday essentials discount its way cheaper than anywhere else and then I don't need to carry the 25kg bag to the car and out the car at home. Delivery guy put it in the garage.

Annual sub worth it for the Prime Video alone.
