Was just reading that Simon Fourie passed away, he was the guy from BikeSA....
Used to read that all the time back in the late 90s when I was still brave enough to ride a bike...
 

Village People lead singer Victor Willis dies after 'aggressive' illness​


1970s disco group Village People have announced that their lead singer and founding member Victor Willis has died aged 75, following a "short but aggressive illness".

The band, known for their hits including school disco classic-turned Donald Trump campaign song YMCA, announced the singer's death on Facebook.

Willis performed as lead singer and co-songwriter for all of their most successful singles and would typically appear as a policeman or a naval office on stage.

Coroners came back with an update today, she didn't die of meningitis, she died from AIDS.

Another celeb that completely went off their rockers, heavy drug abuse, lived on the streets at one point.

Mmm.. you technically can't die from AIDS directly. It's the other infections / diseases that get you because of a compromised immune system. Nitpick I know.

Sounds like she become a full on junky/crack fiend, shame what a waste of a life.

"She experienced personal and legal difficulties, became estranged from her family, and withdrew from the public starting in 2015. Following a period of homelessness, she died on June 16, 2026, of complications from AIDS, exacerbated by septic shock and meningitis. A secondary cause of her death was chronic poly substance use"
