Request for ISPs to block access to specific websites in South Africa

The Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) has cautioned that any Internet blocking regime in South Africa must be backed by a clear legal framework and judicial oversight.

ISPA gave its warning in a position paper, which it published following a formal request by the National Gambling Board to block access to illegal offshore gambling sites in South Africa.

No blocking anything, ever.

Fingers crossed

The Mpumalanga Gambling Board is loosing money and typical anc hates competition.

ALL Gambling should be stopped.

So like most democratic countries where you keep voting for different candidates, but nothing really changes.

China just doesn't pretend, and yet...people still get change.

Wrong forum. Just look at their human rights conditions.

MWeb used to be a major ISP in South Africa.

MWeb then had the bright idea awhile back to police people's internet activity.

How many people do you know that still use MWeb?

A cautionary tale to any ISPs considering this.
