Explosive allegations about Tony Leon and Starlink

National chairperson of ActionSA, Michael Beaumont, has alleged that former DA Federal Leader Tony Leon exploited his political connections to benefit clients of his PR firm, including Starlink.

Beaumont made the allegations in an open letter published on Twitter/X, following a threat from Resolve Communications that it would consider legal action for defamation.

Lobbying is one thing, even if distasteful, corruption and such is a different kettle of fish though.

Bass Beaumont though should show some concrete examples of Resolves clients benefiting because of Tony's political connections in underhanded ways.

I wonder how many of articles in the media praising Starlink originated at Resolve. MyBB has published over 30 articles on Starlink in the 1st 6 months of 2026 alone. Almost all articles hyping the service as the answer to SA problems etc

Interesting to see who on Musk's payroll in SA

Networking isn't a crime. So far, no evidence of any crime has been presented. Let's see some or drop this nonsense. One would swear and election was coming up the way this lot are carrying on.

This is how politics works in every single country in the world. You want to do something? It's against the law? Speak to the people who make the laws. Give them some money, get them to change the law. That's how it's always worked and that's how it always will work. Some call it a donation, others call it a bribe. It's all the same thing.

Yesterday, the DA's former Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (gosh, a lot of former Ministers in your wake) confirmed that Resolve Communications repeatedly pressured him to meet with clients of Resolve Communications, even while those clients were engaged in litigation against the department. For what it is worth, he too states that he believes the campaign to remove him was backed by Resolve Communications.
Beaumont is just being retarded at this point. It is perfectly normal part of business to try to engage with someone you have litigation against to try and resolve the problem.

And he is deliberately ignoring the FMD Response SA bungling by Steenhuisen's staff. They sent a perfectly normal letter to the department

The crime against humanity that Resolve did was likely help craft the letter FMD Response SA sent and find the right person to send it to.

Steenhuisen's office bungled it completely, and now he is blaming Tony Leon for that.

This isn't networking, this is Musk paying politicians to sing his tunes via Tony in the middle. Given Musk's position in the US Gov and his stance with the SA's gov it doesn't take much brainpower to see what is going on here and why its a conflict of interest that is blowing up in the DA's face.

Just before the local elections the DA hands the opposition political capital when they point out that DA ministers are following the orders from their MAGA masters in Washington
