is a POS terminal so difficult to obtain? is a VAT registration and SARS documents so difficult to get?
or is it a CHOICE, to stay under the radar, not pay VAT, not pay TAX not contribute to fixing roads and public infrastructure,

instead to make the formal "white collar" economy pay ridiculous PAYE taxes that we never get to benefit from, all so politicians can rename cities and lie about their latest Luxury car purchases, or blame apartheid

my money is on the latter, as its super easy to simply lower the threshold to 100000 ZAR a year or something ridiculous,
force them to register and crack down hard and not relent when the Taxi mafia gangsters holds the economy hostage.

How many of these township entrepreneurs' articles are loaded to be spewed out in the near future?

Not sure why this is news or worthy of being posted.

We all know there are kakhuis full of these kinds of operations going on everywhere.
Kudos to the guys actually trying and making a living and providing jobs.

The fsckers in charge make it super difficult for us okes who try to do legit business and tax everything to death.

Start clamping down on all these guys as well. What's the difference between his business and mine?
I have to comply and report with a world of BS governing bodies and regulators. Dis fokken toss.

this,

while one has to admire their ingenuity in meeting a need people honestly have,
a country cannot be built or function, with everybody just doing cash sales under the table, not paying tax and VAT and submitting SARS documents and all the rest of it.

I know this is how it works elsewhere in Africa, but maybe thats another reason they are the mess they already are

tax needs to affect 99% of the working age population, otherwise you get the situation we now find ourselves in where a tiny fraction of the population is paying all the tax, not getting any benefit, and the situation is somehow allowed to proceed, cause apartheid debt,

is a POS terminal so difficult to obtain?
any law that states, you have to have it?

is a VAT registration and SARS documents so difficult to get?
under vat threshold

not pay VAT, not pay TAX not contribute to fixing roads and public infrastructure,
you really do not know how VAT works. These guys actually do pay VAT. Vat registered persons actually COLLECTS vat. VAT is always paid by the one in the chain that cannot claim it back. Take a guess who that is...

instead to make the formal "white collar" economy pay ridiculous PAYE taxes that we never get to benefit from, all so politicians can rename cities and lie about their latest Luxury car purchases, or blame apartheid
not sure what crazy assumption you have here. The R24000 a month is total bruto earnings, of which the nett is plit by 3 guys. That is by law under the tax threshold.

my money is on the latter, as its super easy to simply lower the threshold to 100000 ZAR a year or something ridiculous,
force them to register and crack down hard and not relent when the Taxi mafia gangsters holds the economy hostage.
No, your money is on whatever BS you need to support your narative of the day.

He's not a mechanic though. He is more like a tyre place.

Also more importantly it's R1000 per day tax free.
There's also 3 of them in the article.. So R350 each, its not bad money, just a bit little for that type of work

any law that states, you have to have it?
Yes as how is the tax base supposed to grow? in any operational country how exactly is taxes supposed to come from?
under vat threshold
deliberately so, nice little tax loophole, focusing on the White collar jobs to bring in the moolah

yes, and they dont pay Tax, or PAYE or Pensions or anything I get its all cash and again that is a choice, otherwise they have to pay their fair share of Tax like everybody else.
No, your money is on whatever BS you need to support your narative of the day.
you cant run a country on spaza shops, backyard tire places and cash based buisnesses, at some point
you are doing it cause you know you wont get taxed and you can get away with it,

in any functional country, government would come down to these people and ask where is their business documents?
earning under the threshold, okay cool , we lower the threshold, as somebody needs to pay for all the renaming of cities going on.
