R4,200 to take a fake Uber from Cape Town International Airport

Unsuspecting travellers at Cape Town International Airport are being scammed by people offering e-hailing services, who sometimes charge up to R4,200 for a trip.

Johan van Schalkwyk, a frequent traveller and commentator, warned international travellers to be aware of people offering services as if they were Bolt or Uber, while they were not actually registered drivers.

It all starts when you (the passenger) try to cheat the system and make side deals.

Surely this is an ACSA issue or at least they should be point man on this.
