SA Politics Thread Part 13 The Days of Madlanga

I get it... it's whataboutism when one isn't bringing Tshwane, Hammanskraal and Brink into the conversation. ;)
Seriously though, considering the absolute disaster that is, and has been pretty much every muni across South Africa for over a decade, shouldn't we be critically evaluating the job the PP has been doing and what that office chooses to focus on? There really are much bigger disasters than CoCT that the public needs protection on... disasters that have been ongoing for ages.
The PP isn't doing the office any favors by seeming to ignore the very real fskups people are experiencing daily in favour of a politically expedient toothless finding that will have zero impact for the public at the end of the day (even more so in light of the disaster that was the previous PP)
The PP's crime is to dare touch a DA municipality, that's what this meltdown is all about.

Not at all. I'm no DA supporter at all. I think all politicians are useless fsking leeches and we need the PP to do their job and hold said leeches to account. PP's office has become a joke because it has been used to highlight politically expedient cases instead of actually taking on the useless leeches and forcing them to do their jobs properly

So what you are arguing is that when residents of Cape Town bring service delivery complaints to the PP she must refuse to investigate them, because you, KulQkumba on MyBb who is not a DA supporter believes there are much more important things she must be seized with?

You could report it to her and see if she will investigate. You can't just point her to a news report though.
😀 You're right.... proactivity is not one of the principles one could apply to how the PP operates

So you won't be lodging a complaint about all those municipalities, you will just sit here and wait to moan when someone lodges a complaint about a DA municipality?
Let us wait for him to talk to his township friends and figure this out. Don't rush him, man. Some of the friends don't have phones so it takes time.

Where have I said she should ignore complaints that come in?
My point is, schidt is falling apart across the country in pretty much every municipality. Singling out CT which is arguably one of the best run muni's consistently for quite some time now (and right before local elections too) , is IMO politically expedient at best....more like political weaponization in reality.
Are Khayelitsha and Langa horrible places to live? Absolutely they are. But same could be said for Diepsloot, Cato Crest, Zimnono, Motherwell, Dinaweng, Nkaleng, Silahliwe ...the list is endless.
No muni is going to be able to handle the challenges of uncontrolled informal settlements

I have...in my community for one of the worst run local muni's in the Freestate...Nothing has come of it yet.
You okes in Joburg, Tshwane and Emfuleni should try sort your own schidt out

No, it's just obvious to anyone that is not a dyed-in-the-wool ANC supporter that the finding is conveniently released around 5 months before municipal elections. The PP is politically compromised. I've also just noticed that the DA voted against her appointment in 2023, so she no doubt has a bone to pick with the DA.

Don't need to wait, I interact with people in desperate situations regularly in the course of running a small sideline business.
You ever get out of your comfy bubble and experience what people are really going through with the disaster that is municipal "service delivery" pretty much everywhere in SA?

This is you,

There is no one "singling out" CoCT, you just feel that way because "you don't support the DA", yet you still feel its governed areas are holy cows that should not be touched.

A complaint was made to the PP about CoCT and it was investigated.

So Joburg have simply allowed treasury to withhold their equitable share rather than make the required reforms? No doubt they plan to get a political solution that will allow them to continue on without accountability.

This is you,
Yes that is me calling out the double standard of what we're seeing from media and "opposition parties" in the WC

My point being there is much crowing about this PP finding at the best run Metro in the country (that's not DA support-speak it is just fact...although the standard of being "best run" doesn't take much effort considering the rest of the disasters) meanwhile schidt is falling apart at the most basic level at pretty much every other municipality in the country.

Best run metro for who? Clearly people in Langa and Khayelitsha don't experience the best run metro, hence they made this complaint to the PP, which seems to have you all hot and bothered for some odd reason.
