Warning about balcony solar systems in South Africa

Many do have a battery but they dont work during a power failure as thats how they are designed, no grid power = no plug in power.
They are micro-inverters. No battery. Show me one with a battery. If it had a battery then the solar would charge the battery when the grid is down. These systems are taking off in UK because they are cheap because there is no battery.

No you are incorrect, wrong, have no clue what you are talking about - they can be bought with a battery.
Now say sorry and repent for being so grossly ignorant all the time...

Link to one that feeds back into the grid. I want to buy one as I have a spinny meter.

A 5sec Google can help with your condition but I am soft so I will spoon feed you:

Come on, you know this is not the same thing that they are talking about in the article and you know it. Anyway, it makes sense now as most 1st world countries pay nothing to feed into the grid during the day so there is no point and is better to get a battery. We've been having that already. Stop being so aggressive.

What has the article have to do with it, you asked about the systems being used in Europe.
That being said the example in the article also has a battery option so it is the same thing you idiot.
Stop making claims you can't back up, if you are clueless rather just keep your mouth shut.

"Several companies are selling balcony solar systems in South Africa, including well-known energy equipment supplier EcoFlow.
At the time of publication, its entry-level balcony solar system was priced at R7,500 for 2x EcoFlow 100W panels and a PowerStream micro-inverter, increasing to R14,000 for an 800W system."

This is what you asked, you are too lazy to google so I post a link to it and still you are carrying on like a fool.

So how do these locally sold systems work in South Africa?

Calm down, you'll live longer.
Lol still opening your mouth.
I am very calm thanks, just pointing out your idiocy which continues unabated.

They work just the same way here as in Europe , no grid power = no power is fed from the inverter/battery
I posted a link to the Ecoflow website, would it hurt to read what they have to say or can you only learn by being spoonfed?

Still frothing at the mouth I see. These systems do not export into the grid here in South Africa when there is power because the utility doesn't allow it or offers insanely low rates and high line fees for the pleasure or the meter errors or the meter counts it as usage. Also, anyone that doesn't have **** for brains wont spend R30k on a 800W 2kWh ecoflow. So I repeat again that these systems dont work the same way here as they do in europe and people arnt falling over themselves to get one.

And so the idiocy continues
Whether someone decides to buy one in South Africa is up to them and besides the point but carry on.

SA govt frowns on self-install.
They honestly believe that everything done without a certificate is a flaming fire waiting to happen, so they saw a gap to make money as well out of the chaos.

If they could, they'd require you to have a certificate of competency to use a step ladder.
Don't give them ideas FFS!!!

Falls into the same category as people with generators who use a "suicide" extension cable to power their homes.

Most people buying these things simply use them as UPS's with solar generation for additional charging and not powering their homes via the nearest outlet.
Friends' daughter was electrocuted because someone was careless with a "suicide extension". Be careful.

We had one of those as a kid for the lawnmower. Picked up the end (the plug was on) and zapped me and I dropped it, then I carried on with my day. Since then I've been zapped quite a few more times in my life and have also been fine.

I was able to get my tiny fingers into a wall socket at about 6, remember the heavy experience and that I had to fight like mad to pull away from it - like a magnet. Shocks since then can't compare

But doubt we're unique, 80% of this forum are probably shock survivors
