Bit of a generalisation. My daughter bought her first house at 28

All over the world apparently, also what is classified as young?

Quite normal in a country where a government f**ks up the economy under Socialism, Marxism and Communism. Only a small number of people benefit under these type of governments. Happening globally under these governments. See the UK, Europe, Canada, Austalia, New Zealand.

Get used to this and move on. This is the future.

house is a piece of string --- can get a 1 bedroom for R500K or a 5 bedroom for 10mil

True this. Across the world peoples’ understanding of what an entry level home implies has shifted, resulting in less desire to buy.

Because houses are unaffordable or because 18-34 has 45% unemployment and rising?
Near 60% for 18–24-year-olds.

To my point, look at the image and adverts on that page:

No ****.

Look at prices vs income.

I bought mine at 23 with my father 2 years before he got retrenched.

R16 000 just like that gone from my income.

12y and 6m later it still hits hard every month end.

I bought my first place at 21, I'm 33 now and renting as there is no way I can afford to buy the size property I need for my family, also makes no sense in having a R27k bond (excluding rates, taxes, levies, insurance and maintenance) when the same house rents for R16k
