SA Politics Thread Part 13 The Days of Madlanga

Remarkable seeing the change in tone of the Daily Maverick to the DA. Not a single negative story in the past few weeks during a well coordinated and funded disinformation campaign. Instead, praise for McPherson for arguably not doing a whole lot (link), and just a ton of stories about Madlanga and the complete breakdown of Joburg caused by the ANC.

Either the DA is making good use of its funding or the DM leftards have realized that all hope is lost if the DA doesn't win key municipalities (maybe a combination of the two).
They have been bought and paid for by the DA to spread their propaganda.

Look at this,

Instead of holding her accountable for what she promised they play along in shifting the goalposts.

Here is the initial promise that was supposed to have been fulfilled by March last year.

At least the DA (or backers are paying) unlike the taxpayer that has to pay for all the ANC propaganda spewing forth from the SABC!!

I usually travel on R101 once a week from Clubview to Midrand and at around 5pm. Traffic-wise still not too bad really but with townhouses coming up everywhere, it is going to get worse. I see now that Glen Austin area started getting townhouses - this was primarily a small holdings area but I hear that high density development has been approved some years ago.
You're still traveling in the better direction. From Midrand and JHB, it starts picking up just after 15h00 and by 18h00 it's madness. If it rains, it's even worse. There are a few back-routes, but that's like paying Russian roulette with 5 bullets.

If you talking about road condition, then it is COJ standard. 🤷‍♂️
Trick statement!

Do people really spend time listening to these? Did you listen to it before posting it?
I think they’re like the ANC “delivering services” tweets you spam this thread with. No one looks at them or takes them seriously other than the deployed cadres

News that @TheChamp doesn't want you to know. Midvaal of course being the first municipality won by the DA in Gauteng way back in 2011.

Cape Town is the only metro in SA considered highly financially sustainable, with Nelson Mandela Bay in a “fair” but deteriorating condition, according to the latest Ratings Afrika Municipal Financial Sustainability Index (MFSI).

Other than Western Cape municipalities and Midvaal in Gauteng, most municipalities in the country are in severe financial distress.
The average score for local municipalities declined from 36 out of 100 in 2021 to just 33 in 2025, highlighting the continued deterioration in financial sustainability across the country. The average scores would be worse without being propped up by strong performances in the Western Cape.

With an average score of 57, Western Cape remains the highest-performing province by a considerable margin.
The evidence is plainly visible around the country in the form of erratic water supply, potholed roads, Eskom bills unpaid by municipalities and traffic lights not working.

That sums the state of municipal governance across most of the country, but there are notable exceptions – primarily in the Western Cape, where the best performing municipalities are all controlled by the Democratic Alliance (though this is not mentioned in the report).

It's embarrassing that this tiny municipality in the middle of nowehere, with less than 60k registered voters, has more money in the black than the whole of Joburg...

Not really a surprise, but I'm more intrigued/disgusted by the "urine smell in many rooms"... how fscking shyte do you have to be at basic maintenance of a building for the sewerage system to be that broken (I have to assume they aren't actually just randomly pissing in rooms)

Benoni has also started making noises on this

Was it played in court? I wanted to see his reaction but I haven't found anything yet
Probably not in public, but it was presented as evidence in court, so either him or/and his legal team are supposed to accept it as evidence, and the only way to do that is to sit and go through it, just to ensure it is indeed him.
