Eskom CEO Dan Marokane earned about 242% more than the President's annual remuneration package in 2025

Goalposts, they are a-shifting. Does it have to be published on a Tuesday next?

That one went even further and compared his salary to a bunch of others.

You said there's no article. There it is. Took me all of 10s to find it.
That article wasn't about De Ruyter no matter how hard you pretend it was, this article is about Dan Marokane.

You said there hasn't been a single article comparing De Ruyter's salary to the president's. That article does that. It even has a chart doing it. You were wrong. You never mentioned other people needing to not be mentioned in the article. You're shifting goalposts. Simple as.

Don't get me wrong here. I don't think it's relevant ever to compare the Eskom CEO's salary to the president's. They do different things in different industries. With the damage Cyril has done he should be paying SA back at this point. Doesn't change that you were wrong and now you're shifting goalposts. It's a dishonest tactic. Don't do it mate.

Only reason there is no loadshedding is because there is no more industry left that are heavy power users. If you lose all the biggest customers, who take over half of the power you produce, you will not have any problem providing power to the rest, even if a good part do not pay. If they all were running still we would be sitting with stage 8 loadshedding every day, and with the only time you would be uaranteed power would be possibly an hour or three around midnight, and possibly on a Sunday or public holiday.

You had all that with De Ruyter and massive amounts of loadshedding as a cherry on top.
So nothing much has changed then? Well, except for the big salary increases and insanely expensive power.

So apart from getting the workers to kinda do their job (EAF still sucks), what has Morokane/Eskom board actually accomplished?

It’s amazing they stopped dropping extension cords and chopping down pylons after he left.
Odd how the push for Eskom to IPP renewables has also stopped since, as if IPP renewables were the only way to stop LS... And look where he ended up working, perhaps an ulterior motive all around.

Didnt they run out of grid and they don’t know how to build more? Isnt it nersa that approves these things anyway? What is winter peak so far this year compared to last year?

Considering it's been a relatively warm winter compared to last year should be a factor, but I don't know the demand, you track those still ;-)

“Earned” :D:D:D

When the ANC wakes up this afternoon, they’ll also earn the money they steal from you.
