Great news for chocolate and coffee lovers in South Africa

Not big on Chocolate, but Best Before has a fair price on Spar Gold cofee (magic marker over the brand) and [unsure about retailer] Nescafe Gold for around R150 .. I bulk buy coffee in winter, when things somehow get cheaper. Not touching the Classic garbage.

I use a bean to cup at work, but having anything more than instant at home is generally a waste, but will buy a nice pre-ground and french press if I am hosting an event.

I'm sure the suppliers are just going to drop their prices... I'm sure of it.
Generally expensive chocolate, but if you're baking, callebaut is very good, and their price is the cocoa one plus a flat fee (for fair worker payment, plus sustainabily sourced). They directly adjusted their price with cocoa one, and came down in cost here.

They supposedly opened up a place in Johannesburg as well: https://www.barry-callebaut.com/en/...t-up-own-distribution-network-in-South-Africa

But again, this is premium, just found that over here their premium isn't that much since all the grocery / Chocolate producers went crazy high (Lindt especially), so their pricing ended up actually being okay especially for really good quality (very noticeable).

Global coffee and cocoa prices are dropping, which should be good news for any South Africans who have had to cough up more for their caffeine or chocolate fix over the past few years.
It's naive to think retailers are going to drop their prices.
