South African airports start saying goodbye to Eskom

The Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) says that the development of a large solar power plant at Cape Town International Airport is at an advanced stage.

ACSA said the plant, which will have a peak output of at least 2.5 megawatts (MWp), will yield significant benefits for the airport.

True, but more specifically - I've always been convinced that it's a situation where they can't see the foundation for everything resting on top of it.

Reliable and affordable electricity, like other forms of energy used, road-rail, water supply, food security, etc is foundational to the health of the economy. All through. Infrastructure like that are pillars on which the country stands or falls.

Yet they keep on trying to achieve secondary priorities through extraction from these foundational concerns. And all to often take rent.

Then when things are not as they should be - All kinds of "good stories".
