SA Politics Thread Part 13 The Days of Madlanga

The Justice Committee isn't only dealing with RICA fraud but a whole range of other issues as well. Her asking questions does not preclude the DA MPs on the committee from asking other questions about RICA or on other justice issues. In addition, her providing questions to the Justice Committee about RICA fraud does not preclude her from doing work on the other committee at the same time. You know people can multitask, right?
First she moves from Tony Leon's company to being a DA MP, fine.

She then happens to ask questions that champions a cause that would just happen to greatly benefit Tony Leon's clients, wonderful coincidence.

Then even after she is moved from the Justice committee to Correctional services, she continues asking questions related to the Justice Committee that champions a cause that would great benefit Tony Leon's company, still a wonderful coincidence.

At what point do we start taking each other seriously?

When you can answer how asking a question changes policy.

I agree around the reasons for specific individuals focussed/deployed to specific portfolios, but I do think that there should be space to raise/pursue issues where an individual has interest and expertise. "Stay in your Lane" is far too often used to suppress debate and hide from answering hard questions
That is the reason individuals are mostly deployed to areas they have expertise in, but since it's politics it does happen that there are just random deployments.

Cameron a crime activist is in the Police committee.

Breytenbach a lawyer is the member of the justice committee, (must have been properly amused by all this)

Bridgette Masango a social worker is in the social development commitee.

etc...

The reason is that when you are evaluated, which I guess the DA does, you are evaluated for the work you are primarily deployed for, your other interests are fine but it is your portfolio that matters.

I wonder if they will make her mayor when they take the city. They are going to win the city.
Doubt they will get outright majority, plus the emergence of MK has killed all the other small KZN parties, so it will probably be a similar thing to the KZN legislature.

Service delivery our people can see, touch and fall into...

It's a tragic but avoidable incident, nothing to joke about. RIP to the fan, the municipality must take full responsibility.

Yep, nothing to joke about. So I hope everyone realises that it's actual lives at risk when municipalities crumble, and no politician deserves to be defended. It's not all hunky dory in Tshwane. We employ the fckers, why must we root for them too while they fight for power...

Tony Leon is a politician. Politicians are slimy pieces of fermented grass. Therefore...

The end.

This applies to others as well.

If you apply this to all of them, we'd achieve world peace.

This defense of "it’s just legal lobbying" fails the DA's own clean governance and ethics test. Clean governance requires avoiding even the appearance of a conflict of interest, and this standard seems to be something the DA is now only whipping out when it doesn't apply to them.
It suggests that the DA wasn't ever really against the game; they just wanted to be the ones playing it .

If that double standard is acceptable to you then have at it. My opinion... acceptance of this behaviour as just business as usual is what ultimately enables the useless leeches
I get your point and "everybody does it" is not a defense but where is exact evidence against Resolve communications ? I don't see it yet. It is just lot of throwing mud and hoping something will stick.
