A weird question and I am probably over thinking this.

So I asked Sanlam for a settlement quote of a loan. They sent it, and on the document it gives a Tyme bank bank account to pay into for settlement.

The loan payments are paid to FNB.

My initial thought was "looks Scammy". Isn't Tyme bank only for individuals, and it also seems rare that such a large prominent company doesn't use use one one of the large 4 or 5 big traditional banks.

I'll call tomorrow to verify.

Has anyone dealt with Sanlam loans before?

Your thoughts?

TIA.

First of all, it is Tyme Bank (actually now rebranded to GoTyme Bank). Yes, that does sound quite fishy, please do verify via another channel.

Didn’t even know Sanlam do loans to start with.

How does one even find out about that in the first place?

Maybe it’s so small that the Tyme bank account is actually real.

Seems legit. Called their customer line from their website, and they confirmed they no longer using FNB and have moved to Tyme.

Oh well here goes nothing .

If you hear from me again, I been scammed 😁.
