What is your primary source of drinking water?

Tap water (living in Randburg). Recently was in the Western Cape and stayed a few days in Muizeburg. Water had such a strong brackish taste we actually got bottled water for a bit. Shortly after relocated to Strand for the remainder of the time down there and did not have the same issue there so drank from the tap again from that point. Depends where I am. Last year while on holiday in Marloth Park next to the KNP also switched to bottled on advice of the locals.

Back when I still drank alcohol it used to be straight from the 750ml beer bottle.

Nowadays it's straight from the tap, which may or may not be connected directly to the water treatment plant close to us (water is ultra high pressure and free since it's meant for the squatter camp).

Every glass holds a new adventure since it may contain a nice dose of e. Coli which is good to control my weight.

this was maybe 20 years ago - i saw a jhb water guy climbing down into a massive water pipe and i had a chat with him - he told me he never ever drinks tap water after seeing whats in the underground pipes

I have an extreme sensitivity to chlorine/chloramine so it goes into a 4-stage under counter filter otherwise there’s no chance in hell.

Failing that for whatever reason I’ll just pour it into something and leave it overnight so it evaporates and that takes care of mostly.

Fortunately Cape Town water is nice and soft.

You can always have a look at campden tablets.

The water from my taps in Kleinmond is like Evian bottled water and I love it. We get our water from the lovely mountain streams here in the Kogelberg mountains.

I very recently installed a whole house filteration system. The water quality in Durban has dropped significantly over the years.

I have a drop down sediment filter followed by a 20 inch 5 Micron filter and a Brita on tap filter in the kitchen.

I installed everything by myself, quite a fun project actually. I knew very little about plumbing before this!!

A month after the installation I opened out the filters to check what's happening. It was not pleasant at all, a considerable amount of fine sand and sediment had built up already, along with other pieces of God knows what. And that's only what I could see and identify.

I'm on a farm. We get our water from a mountain spring that is piped to our home, straight from the source. Water is incredibly clean (20ppm) and tastes amazing. We can also use as much as we want. Cost is about R100/month for water rights.

Normally the tap, but we're in JHB, where a power failure can effect 70% of water + this doesn't stop them from going ahead with maintenance tomorrow.
