one of my staff is going for her learners ..I took her with me the other day to town and asked her about road markings (Where they still exist) and road signs...

She ain't gonna pass...

I would love to see this test to see if it's really that difficult. I passed my learners first time (admittedly over 25 years ago) so I can't believe that it is that complicated. Even my 13 and 14 year olds knows most of the road signs by now. We regularly talk about it when driving.

Even if you're permanently using a taxi I'm sure you'd at least notice the road signs next to the road enough to recognize and infer it's meaning after a bit of time.

You're joking, but probably right. People here are dumb arseholes. With so many people jumping red lights and stop signs driving is really not a pleasure any more.

They have added a lot of new signs in the time since you did the test. Some really obscure ones that I wouldn't even know where they'd be used.

I have no idea. They make it sound as if these are something new but its been around. I failed my 1st test but passed the second time. Maybe everyone was expecting the old paper test and was surprised. That happened to me.

That was very interesting. I'm going to be honest and say I have no idea which answers I got wrong. Not bad considering it's been yonks since I've done the test.

She just needs to study more. As with most things what you put in is what you get out.

But I get that she hasn't had the opportunity to drive with someone and ask questions about signs etc. a lot of us grew up driving at an early age as well, especially if you lived in rural areas.

Last time I checked the new system had resulted in high failure rate in general, not just in the Western Cape, you DA supporters should stop taking everything so personal.
