Chery has the opportunity here to totally dominate the Sub R 250 000 category in SA. If they are able to sell the Tiggo 4 currently at R 269 000 - while paying import taxes they can sell it for a lot cheaper if they build it locally.

Which they won't do, and they'll still largely dominate that segment.

They've proven a market at the price point, don't expect it to drop once they get tax credits and such, those will be used to bring other vehicles in and keep profits up.
