Yeah. I've had hard water (>270 mg/l of CaCO3) since the house was built 5 years ago and not run into any pipe problems yet Lots of scaling of showerheads, taps, shower screens etc but it takes many years for the pipes to get blocked. Also, once you start running soft water again it slowly starts dissolving the scale.So if I don't add salt in my softener for 2 months then my pipes would be fine?
