Rectron network offline for days and won't say if it was caused by a cyberattack

They actually closed early on Thursday morning, not Friday.

Most staff had left the Midrand branch by midday on Thursday and were told not to come in on Friday "for security reasons." Staff are expecting to receive an update either over the weekend (nearly over) or early next week.

“Further to our previous communications, Rectron is aware of recent media reports concerning the disruption currently affecting certain of its systems and operations.

We can confirm that Rectron has experienced a technology incident and immediately activated its incident response procedures. Rectron is in the process of investigating the nature and root cause of the incident and remains focused on its recovery efforts and on resuming normal operations as soon as reasonably practicable.

As the investigation remains ongoing, it would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause, scope or impact of the incident at this stage. Further information will be provided once the relevant facts have been established and verified.”

Yeah I had some very bad experiences with Rectron when I had a reseller account with them last month. Enough was enough and I decided to use 'legal avenues' to make them see the larger picture.

They're closed tomorrow again.

Do you usually order stock from Rectron for Progenix? Their service levels have gone down the drain as of late for me. How is it on your side?

I would have expected a R323 000 component purchase, followed by another R598 000 for a workstation with a Blackwell 6000 and 9950X3D2 - would have at least got me quick updates/texts/comms...Nothing. Buit then again they deal with >R1m orders regualrly.

Bra, judging by your responses so far it looks like you have "groot kak" on your side. Just saying.

Often enough.

I deal with my key account manager, and product managers. If my KAM isn't available, I shop elsewhere if possible. There are a handful of people keeping me happy - without them, I don't think I'd ever use the company again (although with some of the changes coming, that might happen regardless).

Thanks for the speedy delivery with my order, evem thought it was a <R10k order, you still treated it with utmost care - right from the updated BIOS and already installed CPU to the foam/cardboard superior packing to the ultra-quick delivery and emails/messages every step of the way.

I highly recommend Progenix to all my colleagues and family now. Prices are low and service is great - quality combos too. Only issue I feel is a cosmetic one -the Website feels 'dated' compared to Wootware. If you can get an awesome site similar to Wootwares with apc-builder and recommendations etc you'd get more buyers.

Still closed with no update given today. IMO, they are handling the situation very poorly. Not communicating with their customers at all.

Speak to someone there - they're closed indefinitely. It doesn't seem it'll change anytime soon.
Thanks for the update. Quite frustrating, but nothing we can do, I guess. I have tried contacting them on multiple channels. Email / Telephone / Social Media. There is either no one to respond or they are simply ignoring my request for feedback. I am unfortunately not so lucky to have a KAM - they threw my account into the "retail" pool shortly after my original account manager left the company, and I have remained there even though I have been with them for over 8 years and purchase daily. So the only updates I am getting regarding the whole situation are from here.

I hope they redo their rectronzone website while they are at it. Its very hard to search for stuff on there.
