Hands-on with the new LoopPhone from Rain

Rain's new LoopPhone made a good first impression during our first hands-on experience with the device after we bought one of the operator's new mobile packages for a test.

The LoopPhone, developed by LoopDesignLab (LoopDL), is a new Android smartphone available exclusively on the Rain network in South Africa.
 
Phone is not bad at all, camera looks great. Would liked to see more photos regarding the interface on the phone as well. The packages is a bit steep for me. But wouldn't mind.

The issue isn't with the phone though it looks a bit like an ugly doorstop. The real problem is with their packages. Rain hasn't been relevant since they stopped their R250 uncapped.

These people are so delusional and clearly haven't had to suffer with the horrible sign-up / cancelling process. Lets not bring up the terribleness that is GeForce Now. Can't even get the basics right and make stupid statements like they are a force in the world LOL

I've still got this uncapped 4G product but it now costs R309/month. I see they don't offer it anymore on their website. Should I hold on to it - any other better value alternatives?

If it works keep it. Price wise you won't do better.

If you know how many GB you generally use, have a look at Cool Ideas LTE from either MTN or Vodacom.

That's a Rain mobile product for a phone and not a fixed LTE product for a router?
