Are you getting higher fixed charges now also? Or is that what is being proposed? That’s almost double I think.

No , that Tariff H is a new one. I dont recall seeing it before
Posted it as it is teh 1st TOU one I have seen here

It is just a numbers game

This is the one most people will be on ( Tariff B )
No major increase in fixed charge

Only big chnage was they removed the IBT tarrif ( Tariff A ) and made it a "low income" one

Ah I understand now. You considering TOU? Is it worth it for you? Might reduce gas consumption.

Still doesnt pay for me
Was looking at options to see if anything changed
Old house I used Tarriff A as I never used over 600 units because of teh solar and the R per KWH was lower than tarriff B
They restructured Tarriff A
Gas consuption is low, and the price / kwh is not one of teh primary reasons I use the one gas geyser

Tarriff A is R0
Tarriff B is R120 ( It had a 8% increase )
Tarriff H ( Which is the new tou one ) is R600

Tarriff A != B != Tarrif H
You pick which one works for you

and tariff b will become the new a and be doubled to R240. h will become the new b. Then expect double digit annual increases moving forward.
 
Has been for a few years now
That tarriff was reworked for 2026.
Meant for low income. No more ibt
