How fast you can drive without getting fined in South Africa

Depends, is it a Streetwise two, 4, bucket or a 2L Coke.

15km/h over the posted limit

or be old ...mom of 70+ got stopped for going 95 in an 80 zone
metro kept telling her how she is his mama and he cant fine her and she must be careful lol

You can drive as fast as you like, you only get fined if you get caught.

How fast is the least important question.

It should be "How slow should you be able to drive, obstructing traffic and increasing risk, before you are fined" and apparantley there is no limit.

Got a feeling a lot of you don't drive, havent had a cop stop me to fine me nigh on 20 years now.
So good luck bribing a camera.

Car speedos always over read too so you can add another 5-10km/h on the actual speedo, depending what speed you're doing.

My personal best was 190 on the N2 douple highway into Durban in a Jumbo Golf GTi.

Amateurish, I know, but enjoyable nevertheless.

Unless they deliver the summons to my door and have it signed by me then you don’t need to pay. In Cape Town anyway.

I drive a 4x4 and it’s no fun driving it fast. I’m also older and don’t care for speeding. When I see a speed limit change I comply.

So when I got a R200 in Swellendam going 92 in an 80 zone recently I knew they had some hidden trap set up that catches everyone. Probably like 10cm after the speed sign. Most of us lift our foot and let the car decelerate on it’s own and not hard brake before the sign. So this is for revenue collection and not for road safety!

They can go **** themselves.
