I have a domain that's not reachable from the Vodacom network. I have tested it on other various service provides and its reachable , however on the Vodacom network it is not. How do I go about getting Vodacom to have a look and fix? Anyone? I have scoured through their website to contact them, however their contact us page is basically useless and it doesn't load

Sounds like broken DNS or a dodgy website they are actively blocking.

Just post the domain.

Try changing your DNS server if this is only for your use.

I spent TWO HOURS on the phone with vodacom because my clients on vodacom mobile couldn't access the bloody server because vodacom's DNS was cooked the one day.

Support cannot or will not put you through to someone higher up until you tell them your entire sob story and explain
"I used my vodacom sim with the vodacom DNS, can't access the url (website)... I change the DNS to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 and then magic I can access it. Change it back to vodacom's DNS and nope dead".

They want to
1. Reboot the device - LISTEN HERE IT'S PEOPLE ACROSS THE COUNTRY
2. Get my address to see if it's a tower issue - IT'S PE, CAPE TOWN, DURBAN, JHB not just my local tower.
3. Put you on a custom APN - TSEK it's your DNS!

Oh ja... I was phoning from a Vodacom number... which kept dropping the call too... which meant start over from step one with a new support agent.

GOODNESS

If there’s one thing I’ve learnt is that ISP’s simply can’t be trusted to run DNS servers.

Always use one dedicated to the purpose.
