I have changed the google password on a family member's android phone. The phone reports the account is in use in 2 places on an android media player: once for the media player android account, and once for youtube. The player has been rebooted, but it plays youtube fine. Does the changed password need to be entered into the media player and the youtube account?

How long will it take the player to "notice" the password change, or has it been automagically updated?

I am nervous about a frantic call in a few days time, just long enough for me to forget where I wrote it down.

Nope. It’s a once off device authenticated setup so there’s no password involved.

It’s more like a session token.

Intriguing, thanks. So, if the mediaplayer changes hands, it will continue to use the same google account?

To remove the device, one would have to use a logged-in phone or computer to remove access through the "Linked Apps" menu?

It seems I do not, in fact, speak Android.

Trying to find instructions for what you don't need to do is even more difficult than finding instruction for what you do need to do.

On a device already logged in to that google account
Google "my googe devices "

I was wondering the same thing. Assuming we speak the same not Android. I we change the password of a Google account, will all linked devices be signed out and require the password to be reentered when they get an internet connection?

But I'll ask Google / Gemini as well.

All you need to do BEFORE you sell off / hand over ANY Android TV / Google TV streaming media player to anyone else, is to RESET the DEVICE back to its original OOBE (Out Of the Box Experience) settings, which will wipe it clean & remove ALL Google account details from the device...

Thanks for the interest and feedback, all you helpful people in my computer. I did the deed mentioned in the OP and fled the scene, have not heard any sounds of disappointment yet. We will let things develop.

In the Fullness of Time, All will be revealed. Hopefully not to me, though, not enough storage space.
