Good news for cinemas in South Africa

Ster-Kinekor has revealed that the box-office opening of The Odyssey across its 9 IMAX sites achieved record-breaking attendance, building on "an already phenomenal season" for cinema.

While the company hasn't specified attendance figures, it said they were the highest for an IMAX box-office opening weekend since 2019.

"While the company hasn’t specified attendance figures" PR spin of the global success of The Odyssey. Also school holidays had some movie complexes full and now for IMAX.

People paying to go see that woke slop? Crazy stuff.

Not all woke, just ignoring that factor. After careful research we've decided it's worth a watch, apparently a well told gripping story.

We're personally no longer interested in Imax though, so these movies have to be better than that factor for us now.

I am not surprised as the people generally aren't that bright. They would be excited over that 'woke' nonsense which accomplishes nothing but mocking Western civilisation. The book was better.

5th place on the Apple TV store’s Top Movie Chart is The Odyssey documentary, I wonder how many people paid thinking it’s the one in cinemas

How do you know the book was better if you haven't watched it? Or are you including yourself in those people that "aren't that bright"?

Well, we know its based off Emily Wilson's version of Homer's Oddysey so "mocking Western civilisation" is on point, of course the original source material is far superior.

How does a line by line translation of the source material do that? Also would love to know how a poem with giants, a cyclops and gods set roughly 3000 years ago manages to mock Western civiliazation.

So you've watched the movie?

I find it more bizarre that people will write off an entire movie as woke nonsense because of one casting call...you could swear there weren't a hundred other people in the movie and many of them very big names and solid actors.

Like I said before...I'm there for mommy Anne if nothing else.

Then the woke nonsense is such a minor role as well...which many people don't even realise because they have been entirely misinformed because they consider memes as fact.
