Explosive allegations about domestic workers and Checkers Sixty60 drivers fleeing South Africa

For once, Government is right even though Government was partly responsible for letting illegals come in and stay here for extended periods.
South Africans are just too lazy to do low-skilled jobs, which is why foreigners were doing them. Easier to wait for a grant. It is an entitlement issue, not a foreign labour issue.

Are you not South African though ?

A possible foreigner reported to @ShaunSA's cousin Jacinta.

"Union representative Siyabonga Ntombela said replacing those workers would not be easy because many South Africans expect higher wages and face significant transport costs."
Okay, so now we know, the foreigners have access to transporter technology.

which will lead to fewer grant recipients
We have a deeply ingrained entitlement attitude in SA, Most people assume that the grant is their "God given" right and have little understanding of what the welfare state is all about. I know people who are employed but are getting grants.

Which is the problem with this place, the attitude of entitlement.

Have seen a huge shift recently. Lots of people leaving who had been here for ages. We have a few people at our church who have all left recently who had been in SA for years.

First guy we helped get a ticket home (Malalwi) was just tired of it. Had a boss who treated him very poorly. Work all day and had to be night security on the site for R2k per month.
Second person had papers expire and could no longer get work and went home
Today I went and helped a really nice Zimbabwean lady get a ticket home. Worked as a cleaner for years here for a West Pack. Her passport had expired and with the new legislation the owner was no longer comfortable keeping her on. A lot of people are scared of the proposed 100K fine for employing someone without papers. Anyways, they did give her another months salary but let her go.

I feel for these people but at the same time the law is the law and it's not worth the risk to get a criminal record and the big fine for employing someone illegally. Hope these people find something back home. Not sure if it is even possible anymore for unskilled people from Africa to get work papers in SA anymore.
