What do you mean? Gal was a great fit for Wonder Woman.

The people screaming rAciSm now would obviously have no issue whatsoever with Black Panther for example being played by a non-black actor. Remember - fictional story, fictional character, anything goes as long as the actor is good. Or that's what's being said every single time a white character (or traditionally white character) is race swapped.

As for Gal, yeah, a lot of people hate her because she’s Jewish and a lot more people hate her because she’s a terrible actress.

At the very least, woke or not woke, if a film is to be representative, it should feature a rich Greek cast. And it is after all a Greek work, and a work which the Greeks study and love from primary school while to the rest of the world it is one story out of 1000s of strange local tales. To take that and use it as another cartoon about superheroes and address English speakers' colonial/slavery guilt is very inappropriate. Never mind that, for the English, the Greeks were also sort of second class citizens.

It is typical of the usual Anglo-American Brit to take someone else's heritage and mold it into their own topic du jour and completely omit the people who wrote it and whose heritage it belongs to.

Are you suggesting that, rather than hiring the best actors and actresses for the roles, Nolan and his casting director should have looked at ethnicity as a major part influencing their casting decisions?

I have been reading her translation before going to watch the movie. The stuff said about it on the internet is outrage baiting that does not correspond with the content.

in the acting profession the "best fit" is someone who can believably portray a character, this extends to their looks and ethnicity

simple as that really, a misfit breaks the emersion, the very thing movie makers are trying to achieve

The Odyssey is a great re-telling of the story, so too was the film with Ralph Fiennes a few years ago. Lyk my julle moet by die lughawe gaan werk want dis net complain complain complain :ROFL:

There have been a few actually. Project Hail Mary made a bit of cash and filled the cinemas as well.

I went on a monday to watch the latest Minions slop on a monday evening with my son and the cinema was full.
People are actually going to the movies again. Its quite impressive.

Gail Gadot is also very attractive, any guy that had an issue with her in that role was probably gay. I also think she is quite a good actress.
