My networks use DOH, set by the Unifi gateway.

Seems to be pulling from that host, still slow.

It's weird. All the other regions seem to be faster tham the local one, guess it's just easier leaving it on Portugal then (fastest one I've found so far).

Even setting the region to West Africa was double the speed of the CPT/JHB one, although it looks like that was just using UK servers.
 
I'm having some weird issues with ipv6, some pages are just not reachable via their ipv6 addresses.

e.g.

apt.llvm.org is an alias for dualstack.l2.shared.us-eu.fastly.net.
dualstack.l2.shared.us-eu.fastly.net has address 199.232.198.49
dualstack.l2.shared.us-eu.fastly.net has address 199.232.194.49
dualstack.l2.shared.us-eu.fastly.net has IPv6 address 2a04:4e42:4c::561
dualstack.l2.shared.us-eu.fastly.net has IPv6 address 2a04:4e42:4d::561

The IP4 address work fine, can't route to the ipv6 ones..
 
is there any way i can have a more consistent ping to cape town on openserve? i have to redial pppoe about 10-15 times to get back in the 15-20 range, sometimes its 25-30 sometimes its 30-40 :(
 
Hey, QQ I've noticed when using .co in my username i am getting a remote ip 100.x.x.x when switching to .co.za it reports correctly. which should I be using on vuma aerial?

Hi, not really something we can control. If you can choose your BNG with your router that may be a workaround.

Hi, what do you mean reports correctly? Is there an issue with your service at all?

My apologies for the lack of an explanation. My question is more along the lines of is there a difference between using .co or .co.za in the ppp username?

One was v6 enabled is basically the difference.

the cool ideas provided cudy wr1300, 15-20 seems like the baseline minimum, but sometimes while the pppoe session is active it would jump to 30 and stabilize there, then i redial pppoe and its around 24, redial pppoe again and its up to 30, redial again, now its back on 16, the one i showed before was when it randomly decided 60 is good. it's like playing the lotto everytime i redial hoping to get the good one1785087103805.png

Yes so as we discussed previously this is just the Openserve MPLS taking you on different routes. Forcing a BNG in the Cudy could be the work around. @CoolEscalator can advise better.

@PBCool @CoolEscalator Quad9/Woodynet seems to have been de-peered at CINX since around 15 July, at the time there was a lot of packet loss via CINX and I assume it was de-peered as a workaround.

I mainly use CISP DNS, but some of my devices use quad9 for extra security.

Do you know if the peering to them can be restored at CINX?
I am not sure tho if the packet loss on their side has been resolved or not.

i plugged in an old mikrotik and dialed pppoe with that, there was only one AC (eel-ip-bng-1) and everytime i redialed pppoe it was the 15ms latency, but the moment i put it back in the cudy, it was on 25ms again1785091591765.png1785091597586.png

Hi there. I will check with our team

Yes we de-peered back then due to the loss at the time. Have enquired if we can bring up peering again
