Michael Bagraim, the DA’s spokesperson on employment and labour, announced that the party will challenge the draft Employment Equity Code.

Are there thousands upon thousands of white people genuinely struggling? yes, most definitely

AND IN ADDITION:
Is the average white person better off than the average black person?: absolutely by orders of magnitude

Even within the white population there is huge inequality. I fully acknowlege this fact and dynamic.

There are on average 11 times more blacks then whites... Why aren't they better off? They are the majority? Perhaps start blaming the people in charge, put there by the majority.

The stats quoted, as I read them are not stating - "what percentage of the total umeployed are black/white/Indian etc."

They are quoting the total percentage of each race that are currently unemployed.

• Black/African: 35.3%
• Coloured: 21.2%
• Indian/Asian: 14.7%
• White: 8.1%

So, of all Black people, 35.3% are unemployed. Of all white people, 8.1% are unemployed. Obviously skills and the like need to be added in and comparing a very small part of the population to the majority isn't helpfull but it definitely shows that whites, as a group are a lot less likely to be unemployed (for whatever reason).

I was waiting for the penny to drop that from the start I have in fact not been quoting the raw stats but in fact everything I have provided is already the weighted stats. I don't think anybody actually read anything I provided. Narrative > facts for these folks.

Remember this doesn't take into account people who've just given up looking. This number is people still "looking"

Have you been in a situation where you've got far more experience and have unique skills, skills the prospective company is desperate to have, only to be told:

* You don't have this qualification
* Sorry, you're too old
* Sorry but we've decided to not proceed with your application due to xyzabc reason which you can easily infer is to do with being white and male

This is what is happening now. They are now in full discrimination mode. They prefer the other races, over experience, acumen, and raw talent.

One of my first jobs after getting my MCITP was to teach MCITP. R5500.

All government paid for.

At least 2 woman pregnant per class.
Depending on the class 3 or 4 missing. Parents did not know when I called them.
The majority was just there for the free classes hoping to pass by doing nothing.
There were maybe max 5 people in a class who took it seriously.

I provided multiple sources demonstrating that the reality is that white people are the most employed demographic by far in this country and in addition the gap over time has widened in white people's favor. It is easier now for white people to attain employment than ever before compared to any other racial demographic.

Everything that the ANC has implemented since taking power has achieved nothing to address this inequality. It gets worse every day that goes by. It is a dismal failure on their part as usual. They are what they are: garbage.

In this context the complaining by white people about discrimination is just farcical and pathetic and a wonderful example of white fragility and unearned victim mentality. It is in no way aligned with reality.

Youre conflating two completely different issues.
White people having the lowest unemployment rate doesn't prove that employment policies cannot discriminate against white applicants. Those are two different questions.

The DA isnt challenging whether whites have lower unemployment. They're challenging whether the state can lawfully set hiring targets based on race and sex. By your logic no demographic with relatively low unemployment could ever face discrimination. That's obviously false. Group level employment statistics don't determine whether an individual hiring policy is discriminatory.

Your statistics answer "Who is more likely to be employed?" They don't answer "Should race and sex be used to decide who gets hired?" Those are entirely different debates.

Lol. The issue is that you're presenting statistics that don't address the question being debated.
The topic is the legality and fairness of the draft employment equity code, not whether whites have lower unemployment. You've proven the former is not the latter.

Stats SA doesn't work out unemployment based on total population. It only includes ages 15 -64 - so employable population.

While unemployment rates capture those who are looking and available for work, the NEET rate provides a broader measure of youth who are disengaged from both the labour market and the education system

It also excludes people who haven't looked for work in the sample time - so it doesn't count people who are resigned to never getting a job and have stopped working.
