Yes HMB is more profitable than DDR (or consumer grade memory), but that being more profitable has its limits when its use case becomes narrower and the cost becomes prohibitive. Its all well and good producing HMB if you can't actually move all of it.

Do you even know the use cases for HMB memory outside of AI. ????
Do you know that HMB memory was in use WELL before AI, AI increased the demand, but it's use cases don't simply evaporate because it no longer needs it.
The use cases is neither niche nor limited, cloud use, chemistry, astrophysics, VR, networking equipment, professional work stations and rendering, even simulation of weather and data, just to name a few.
HMB memory demand is going away because AI no longer needs it, demand is only going to increase irrespective of AI

Sure the HBM memory is expensive to make, and will likely remain with enterprise use case only, the practically is it has been in use since 2013 almost a decade before AI.

How exactly how long do you expect it to take for the AI bubble to burst. ? I hate to break it to you it will take several months if not longer not all areas of AI market is unprofitable, there is a shift already to running LLMs on compact consumer hardware. Crypto mining has seen a similar shift to dedicated hardware.
