Yes I have a huge PS4 game disc library. I have a huge DVD and BD library. I have a huge CD library.

Actually yes, Sony's d1ck move made me move to PC.

There clearly is a demand for PS5 media. But it's also clearly in Sony's money interest to kill the after market and kill the competition. Now their online store will be the only way to purchase games and they control all pricing. And they can switch off at any time. And they will give spin that - oh consumers don't want physical.

Contrast with PC where there exist DRM free versions (eg GOG). some STEAM games are also DRM free/offline, there is competition with sites like g2a or more legit like greenman selling at discount.

The real argument isn't really even about physical vs digital. It's about owning vs rental.

Just because you don't want to buy physical because you don't want clutter, doesn't mean you don't want to OWN the games.

Apple's music store is also an example of DRM free music. You can buy a song on iTunes and save it, copy it out of your library. Even if Apple pulls the album, you have the music file and you can play it on any device or transcode it to MP3 or FLAC and then play it on any device.

My arguement is that you are fake news, PC boy. So it's not an ad hominem.

For example, you are lying through your teeth again. Your own post said "the PS5 hasn't run in a long time". Now you say "Sonys dick move made me switch to PC".

That "dick move" only happened a week or two ago, so how did it affect your PS5 not being used for a long time?

Clearly, you are posting nothing but BS.

As to your huge collection of disc's of various formats, how are you watching them if your "PS5 hasn't run in a long while"?

Maybe go pirate some more games and stop lying.

My PS5 would power on maybe 3-4 times per week and has not in 2 weeks or so.

This news appeared in my threads about 4 weeks ago.

So I don't have a large library because I don't play them every day-- dozens of games I must play every day?

So if your physical media are on the shelf and gathering dust, you don't want physical media? or even, physical ownership?

Thats not even it for me. Its the lack of competition that is the problem.

On PC you can go to Steam, Gog, Xbox PC marketplace, Uplay, EA or even Epic store to buy/rent digital games. They all have an incentive to make you happy else you move on.

On the console space Microsoft seem to have shot themselves in the foot so many times that they barely have a leg to stand on. Nintendo is doing their own thing with lower spec'ed devices. Sony is noticing the lack of competition and now, move to become a monopoly where they can do and charge as they please and there is nothing the end user can do about it.

Fun times ahead indeed.
