It's the same as until 2020 when AARTO was changed, that an expired licence card was an invalid licence, it wasn't until amendments, cause they were like oh frak you mean we didn't actually have a law against that??? Plus what does an expired licence card actually represent? Some stupid arbitrary thing? It's not like the licence itself expired and you're now incapable of driving.but, like it or not, it's the widely accepted interpretation of the law that not carrying that card is against the law.
Eliminating the card eliminates that stupid interpretation.
Notice the spelling of licence as well, since when are we yanks?
I would rather do the failure to present a licence or similar document as it's no points and no fine according to their own website, vs 3 points and R2000 fine.
