Generator or Inverter for residential use?

They are vented enclosures but I am monitoring temperatures so am not sure how hot they actually get.
The only other issue I encountered was humidity. Hopefully they are checking the connections every 4 months or so. My busbars rotted away basically as they were not tinned and coated in terminal protector since my enclosure is also outside. I shouldnt have that problem now anymore.

Powerforumstore is running a special promo on a 6kW inverter and 5.12kWh LiFePO4 battery: R 18 343.00 Incl. VAT excl delivery.

This is almost as cheap as a 7.5 kVA generator. If one considers that it allows for always-on electricity, plus the ability to take 11.4kW solar input, the cost of fuel and many other factors, the inverter/battery has basically killed the generator as a cost-effective and viable alternative to Eskom.

NRS inverter? Thats about R8k more than what @denmendez65 paid for a 5kW/5kWh all-in-one from builders.

Good value. Does the Builders' one have a 11.4kW of solar MPPT? 10 year swop-out warranty? 120A charge rate?
They sold a 10kW inverter with 10kWh of battery all in one that had that MPPT rating etc. Just not the warranty for 17k. Mine tops out at 6kW of panels I think. 100A charge.

You got a good deal.

Today the 10kW is R29,999 (was R16,999 in March), 6 month warranty.
11K MPPT on a 10K inverter is hardly "oversizing". And from this thread it looks like some have issues with battery comms. No-one has really reported on the generation side yet.
That said, not too bad a deal, but time will tell, also on the power4less support.

I doubt there is any Power4less support lol. I bought the inverter as a gamble as it was very hard to beat. Once I saw it was a SRNE inverter I was happier.

As for comms yeah, you would think they would done the comms between the inverter and battery inside but you have to put the cable yourself on the outside. Once done with a few things to setup on the inverter side the comms works. So far so good my side in the last 4 months of having it.

We all have to start somewhere.
Put up some panels and start saving, PFS have a special still on 635W Trina Vertex at R1,811.25 ea including delivery anywhere in SA.

I am deep in the rabbit hole already. Have 2 inverters, all in one 5kW and a 24V 3.6kW that has 10 GEL batteries on it so in total 17kWh of storage. Both inverters supply the DB. 6.5kWp of panels. 650W size panels and 4x340W for the geyser alone. Self-installed everything.

Went offgrid officially from CitiPower in Feb this year. Cable has been cut and all that. No bill.

So this is a very good deal?

Want to forward it to someone around Pretoria East that do get electricity interruptions.
