SA smart plugs that can be flashed with Tasmota

My assumption was the plug caused the lamp to blow,b ut someone that know way more than me said that perhaps the lamp caused the plug to blow. And exactly as you said, at least the issue was contained in the plug.

But I started looking at others ... and specifically want Matter AND ZAR pins. There appears to be nothing - but I'm hoping that one day we can get the below ZAR pin as Matter supported. They have a TP Link P110M which is already Matter, but not our pins

I'm not familiar with Matter / Zigbee.
I've used the "SmartPad" plugs with opensource tasmota/esp-home:

One of mine branded as VIZIA Smart WiFi Power Plug. Think I had it since 2021. Never tried to flash it. I just use it with the Tuya app.

Yea.

What I mean is Tuya provide the platform and plenty different factories in China manufacture the device with the abilty to connect to platform. Companies can purchase and white label any of these devices.

But there are so many manufactures and white labelling, you get different designs, qualities, using differeent components etc. BNETA is a Tuya smart plug probably out of a different factory to the factory that made mine

It can't be white labelled if it's from another manufactrer or another factory just because they both connect to Tuya platform. A company can go one further and white label the platform too (ie CBI and multiple others)

The problem as these manufacturers race to the bottom for price and some cut corners to get ahead. I'm sure plenty of the safety certificates that they get aren't being done above board.

I also have an EcoFlow smart plug that I got for free and am not currently using. It looks like great quality but it's a UK plug so it's a pain to use.
 
I've got light switches CK-BL602-4SW-HS-03 firmware 1.3.1. Is there any way to flash OpenBeken OTA with these?
 
Final BNETA plug gave in today. Went offline 10 hours ago. Plugged it out and tried again - didn't come online. Plugged it out and tried plugging it in again.

This time it came online but the relay no longer works.
 
I have two of those BNETA plugs and use it with the tuya integration in homeassistant, but I am looking to replace them. The reason is not that they don't work, it's because I want to move forward using Matter. I know Tasmota exists, I have 5 Sonoff devices that I flashed, but ideally going forward I just want to do Matter.

Here is my frustration... How long has it been and we are yet to see a matter smart plug with the old south african 3 point plug standard. Has anyone seen anything remotely the same as the BNETAs but matter compliant?
