Well this is another Anglo-American superhero movie, never mind that Greek kids learn to read ancient Greek just to study these kind of works, but the Anglo export culture sees other peoples' stuff as theirs to present their own fake virtue signalling. Note that the same Anglo Guardian dunces who brow beat the rest of the world, are silent about their own people doing a Brexit.

No it's about pointing out hypocrisy of Hollywood which some here must defend at all costs because they cast a token black person and a trans person. He earlier asked about forcing Nolan with quotas, but that's BULL, one can simply point out the wrongs, I'm not asking for force or laws. People here don't argue in good faith. At the end of the day what is the reason to have a discussion forum? Only to troll or have an echo chamber? I suppose it is that.

Took the kids to see Toy Story 5 yesterday and Sterkinekor at The Grove was packed, queues for days. They must be doing something right.
 
Quite enjoyed it

Using the word ‘daddy’ was a bit jarring for me (gravitas reducing) and a poor choice when they also use ‘father’ at some point which works better in that context.

Helen if Troy being black didn’t feel out of character for me - Saracens were a thing back then so she didn’t seem particularly out of place

The cyclops was a bit meh, but given that it was animatronic understandable

Overall, I really enjoyed Nolan’s take on The Odyssey - surprised myself by how much of it I remembered, and the 3 hours flew by.

It was really strange seeing Holland, Zendaya and Hathaway in their roles having recently watched Spider-Man and Devil wears Prada 2.

Matt Damon nailed the Odysseus role.
