The budget car lie costing South Africans thousands of rands every month

Budget car and you mention a VW Polo??? The Polo hasn't been a budget car for about 10 years now.

A new sub-forum should be created called "Stating the obvious." for threads/topics like this.

This is supposed to be common sense. But I've seen people buying cars that they can "afford" and then, once they have the car, can't afford to replace the valve cap.
Many don't sit down and do the math: monthly instalment, insurance, fuel, tyres, service, license, etc. Basically, keeping the car on the road. Car dealers won't mention any of this to you; they only want the sale.

I like how they show pictures of an S-Presso, Vitz, Celerio and Kwid - acTual ''budget'' cars in the South African landscape - and then use the Polo, which is a mid-range luxury car by comparison, as the cost of ownership sample.
