If I recall correctly, it was a matter of a few days after the new minister was appointed that he dropped all FMD legal challenges and was openly praised by everyone in the agriculture sector.

Water under the bridge and amazing service delivery rectification by the DA.

Seeing that FMD was already 1 year in when DA took it over, why another 2 years and one month before getting experts in the field into the advisory council? A plumber could have done a better job.

I'm confused by this statistics from Moneyweb though... I literally know no-one online or offline who actually likes the DM now. I certainly know ex-DM readers, especially around their excellent reporting of the state capture allegations and the time their journalist was bribed (on camera) by a government cadre.

There are however pockets of resilience.


Business Day increased its circulation by 9.5%, while the weekly print edition of Daily Maverick grew by 21.4%.

Those gains suggest that readers may still pay for specialist reporting and clearly differentiated journalism.

I'm confused by this statistics from Moneyweb though... I literally know no-one online or offline who actually likes the DM now. I certainly know ex-DM readers, especially around their excellent reporting of the state capture allegations and the time their journalist was bribed (on camera) by a government cadre.
