I'll be living mostly outside South Africa (dual resident, breaking tax residency using DTA) for a while. My understanding is that I can keep (and keep contributing to) my TFSA while I'm temporarily non resident. Unfortunately, it would still be taxable where I'll be living, so I need to find a TFSA that does not do distributions as I would need to declare those and pay tax on them. It's also a faff at tax return time.

Is there such a product in SA? Right now I just have it in a cash TFSA and I'd like to move it to a "set and forget" option, while continuing to contribute R46K a year to it so when I eventually return I should have some decent growth.
