Free streaming service illegal in South Africa

The Film and Publication Board (FPB) said that Plex’s Free Movies & TV ad-supported streaming service operated in South Africa illegally.

“Plex TV was operating in contravention of the Films and Publications Act, as it did not register with the FPB as distributors of film content as required by the Act,” the FPB told MyBroadband.

Sad that after decades of being upright law-abiding citizens the government has overstepped its bounds so badly that the average person no longer considers the law as anything more than a nuisance and inconvenience to be ignored as far as possible.

Only those supplying services have to ever answer to their own location-country's authorities.

They DID NOT operate in SA, they were merely accessed from SA !
