Android Auto not connecting automatically

I have the Hyundai Venue and it supports android auto wireless, so does my honor 400 phone.

I noticed that Bluetooth connects fine but it's not connecting the WiFi part (car will make a private connection for Android auto).

It worked once and I thought it was sorted but today when I got into the car and switched on, android auto did not connect.

I had to remove the phone, unpair the car from Bluetooth and start it all over again then it worked but it only works for that day, if I try tomorrow, it won't connect again.

It's supposed to just connect automatically.

Any idea why?
 
Couple of suggestions:

  • Does a wired connect work all the time - have you tried
    • if this works and you not winning, you can buy wireless adaptor, about R400, and then you should be sorted.
  • take it to the dealer to help you - they must have set this up 100s of times
  • Tried it with another brand of phone to see if it works?

Try and see if you can get to android auto settings on the phone (samsung has it, not sure about honor) there you will a setting for auto reconnect (if I recall, its the very first setting). Sorted the issue for a relatives car with android auto wireless
 
Both my wife and I, with Honor phones, often have reconnect issues. Sometime it will just not connect. Airplane mode or Bluetooth off for a couple of minutes sometimes helps, otherwise a reboot is required. Irritating. Both of us have aftermarket Android Auto units though.

Haven't tried the wired connection but I will do it today.

I just don't like the fact that it is wireless and that I need something else to make it work OR have to use wired connection if it works fine

Everything is correct and toggled on for automatically connecting. Still happens.

This is exactly it, I don't know if it's only honor phones or what but it's frustrating.

It will connect for that day fine then tomorrow nothing. I have to do the whole set up again and then it won't connect again.

This Android auto came with the car which is more disappointing
 
hyundai is not the greatest with this. Myself have a 2025 Tucson. It connects but it keep losing the link. my morning trip for 18 kilo probably see 20 times reconnecting message. Hyundai says unpair and redo. not interested to help.

I'm using a Samsung with a aftermarket unit and have the same issue. A restart usually sorts it out... happens like once a week when it does not connect automatically
 
Hmmm, my moms Honor is also not auto connecting to AA, factory head unit.

Did have this issue before but it fixed itself a few weeks later before i could look at it, now it happened again.

Will check it on the weekend.
 
So seems like a common problem. My GF has a Jetour her AA connects properly

My Hyundai is 2025 model and is doing this ****.

I'll probably try the wired connection and see if that works. Still disappointing since it supports wireless
 
If wired works, then this device is R279 and will basically fool the car into thinking there is a wired connection. The device will manage the Bluetooth link.
