Eskom is much stronger under Marokane than it was under De Ruyter

Don't think De Ruyter was a particularly stellar CEO. He did undeniably inherit an absolute mess though.

The major unit failures plunging the country into permanent stage4-6 weren't a fault in his management as far as I can tell. Explosions due to employee negligence, and chimneys collapsing due to corruption and mismanagement during the construction of a power station that happened long before he became CEO.

As he walked out the door those units came back online. Those repairs he did oversee as CEO, but he never really got to reap the benefits during his time there. Now the next CEO smells like roses thanks to the reinstatement of those units and demand drop.

EDIT: don't get me wrong, the current crowd are so much better than anything we've seen in decades out of Eskom. I think De Ruyter's crowd and the current crowd are both leagues above the corrupt animals that ran Eskom into the ground previously.

Give Marokane his due, he has been successful, however the article belies the real truth, does de Ryter a disservice, and lands up coming across as the race-based lie it really represents. Eskom is better run than it used to be prior to deRyters time, but is successful because it has been abandoned and replaced by a huge sector of it's userbase.

12 posts for the race card to make an appearance. The messiah wasn't ever as good as people here were making him out to be. Non of those before or after weren that stellar either. The people doing the actual work to get them in a better shape was definitely not those in the boardrooms, those were there mostly just to steal.

I can promise you that if you find the best CEO in the WORLD who happens to be white and ask him to run Eskom, he would "fail" too.

So in other words, all the loadshedding and Stage 6 was a form of indirect protest because a whitey was in charge?
Once said whitey departed, everything calmed down again...
Yes, because there has never been loadshedding under a black CEO, all the loadshedding was targeted at the white man.

Lets not pretend this culture of sabotage doesnt exist in SA.

A person I knew who was Zimbabwean, was promoted to a managerial position at a company and he had a hard time because when he got the job, the SA employees hated it (even though the guy had the paperwork and experience etc).

They refused to listen, sabotaged work etc. It was upper management that had to step in and got rid of the troublesome workers (which is difficult to do under SA labor laws) but they managed. Eventually his job got easier as he was left with people that didnt care that he was Zimbabwean.

So no, that culture of sabotage is definitely a thing, and I can see ADR having suffered from it.

Yea unfortunately the baggage we carry affects everything

No problem can be assessd in SA bassd on what acctualy happened

The race part has to come into it

It does not matter how non racist we claim to be (changed men)

That muscle memory will pop back up at times

And we have to reflect on why it popped up

all races has incompetent pieces of ****

And uneducated

They and Many others will try and make their ****ups a race based thing shifting the blame from Where it belongs

The important thing is we all **** up at times

Did we learn from it

if we promote the ones that learn and get rid of the ones that don't thngs get better

And to be honest i don't think it will be easy to get over this if ever

What an absolute joke of a headline. This is revisionist history, and it says a lot about how short memories are when it comes to Eskom.
your forgetting the colour of the CEO's skin is what determines if he/she does a good job or not.
thats all this is, bashing a brave WHITE man vs a BLACK ANC cadre that lets people feast at the table of Eskom.

and if you complain about this, you get labelled a racist, even though the ANC has been in charge for so many years and nothing has changed meaningfully.

And we haven't had Stage 8 loadshedding sing AdR left. He really sent the country into the gutters. Double hit as we had Zuma as well. Many still haven't recovered from the damage he has done, above the damage the ANC is doing.

of course, as difficult as it is to say, you cant do much with Turds except pile them higher,

Eskom was a massive turd, ADR stepped in to it, did what he could saw things for what they were a ANC feeding trough
with fat piggies shoving each other aside and competing for space like a bunch of degenerates buying Mclarens and not fitting through doors from enormous girth

tried to eliminate the Whitey, first by discrediting him over and over (even here) then by putting in obstacles, then by sabotage, then by stupidity, then by force and eventually by simply making his job impossible.

whitey then EXPOSES THIS 1D10ts on TV for the entire WORLD to Laugh at their incompetence, gets labelled a supressive or counter revolutionary person on trumped up rubbish charges, flees for his life (comes back ???)

and here we are again, Whites skin bad, black skin good?
